Artificial Intelligence: A Powerful Tool, But Humans Still Matter!
DING DING DING! It's Trace The Rater time! 🔔🤖
Artificial intelligence!
Some people love it. Some people hate it. And some people have mixed feelings about it!
But one thing is certain: AI is changing how people study, work, communicate, and create content.
As a college student, entertainment reviewer, and independent content creator, I've incorporated artificial intelligence into my own projects, including Trace The Rater!
But HEADS UP! Just because AI can do something doesn't automatically mean we should let it do everything!
Today, I'm discussing the AI tools I use, their benefits, their limitations, and why human creativity and responsibility still matter!
1. My Three AI Ecosystems 🤖
Personally, I use AI tools from three major technology ecosystems: Google, Microsoft/OpenAI, and Meta!
Google offers AI-powered services that can assist with research, brainstorming, organizing information, and understanding complicated topics.
These capabilities can be useful when I'm exploring ideas or trying to learn something new.
However, I still need to verify information rather than automatically assuming everything AI generates is accurate.
Microsoft and OpenAI
This is another major part of my AI toolkit!
I use services and platforms including:
- ChatGPT
- Microsoft Copilot
- GitHub Copilot
- Visual Studio Code with AI-assisted development
These tools have helped me explore ideas, structure content, and work on my Trace The Rater website!
For example, GitHub Copilot can assist with writing and troubleshooting code, while ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot can help with brainstorming, explanations, and organizing information.
But there's an important distinction: I still make the creative decisions about my brand!
AI doesn't determine what I enjoy watching, what I think about an entertainment topic, or what opinions I want to express.
Those decisions come from ME!
Meta
Meta AI is another tool I've explored.
With AI becoming increasingly integrated into social media and messaging platforms, it's interesting to see how these technologies are becoming part of everyday online experiences.
But regardless of which company develops the technology, the same principle applies:
Use AI thoughtfully, and don't blindly trust every response!
2. How AI Has Helped Trace The Rater 🎬
When I started developing Trace The Rater, I wanted to create something that combined my interests in television, movies, entertainment journalism, digital media, and personal commentary.
AI-assisted tools have helped me work toward those goals.
For example, I can brainstorm video topics, organize article ideas, troubleshoot website problems, and explore different approaches to digital content creation.
That's especially useful when managing a website, social media platforms, college responsibilities, and other activities.
But here's something important!
Trace The Rater isn't an AI-generated personality. It's my independent creative brand.
My ratings, opinions, interests, experiences, and creative direction come from me.
AI can help me communicate and develop those ideas, but it shouldn't replace my ability to think independently.
3. HEADS UP! AI Can Make Mistakes! ⚠️
Artificial intelligence can be impressive, but it's definitely not flawless!
Sometimes, AI systems generate incorrect information that sounds convincing.
This is often called an AI hallucination.
Imagine asking an AI system about your favorite television show, only for it to confidently invent an episode that never existed!
WHAT?! 😂
That's why checking information is important, especially when creating journalism or educational content.
Whenever I'm researching a topic, I should be asking questions such as:
- Is this information supported by a credible source?
- Is it current and accurate?
- Am I presenting facts separately from my personal opinions?
- Am I using AI to assist my work rather than blindly copying its output?
AI can be a helpful starting point, but verification is still necessary!
4. AI Should Never Be Used to Mentally Break People
This is something I've discussed before in my Trace The Rater content.
Technology should not be used to intentionally harass, manipulate, intimidate, or emotionally harm other people.
And that includes artificial intelligence!
AI can generate text, images, audio, and other content, which creates opportunities for creativity but also possibilities for misuse.
Whether we're discussing cyberbullying, deceptive content, impersonation, or manipulation, people should think carefully about the consequences of their actions.
Having access to powerful technology doesn't excuse harmful behavior.
I believe people should approach AI with responsibility, empathy, and respect for others.
5. My Conversation With the WSU AI Club! 🎓
Here's something especially interesting about today!
On October 28, 2026, Zay, vice president of the Wichita State University AI Club, reached out to me about potential collaboration opportunities involving Trace The Rater!
We discussed artificial intelligence, responsible technology use, and the possibility of helping promote each other's activities.
One particularly important point from our conversation was the need to recognize and reject inaccurate information generated by AI systems.
I appreciated that perspective because it's closely connected to my own work as an aspiring journalist and content creator.
After all, journalism requires more than simply repeating whatever information appears on a screen.
It requires research, judgment, verification, and accountability!
We also discussed opportunities for Trace The Rater and the WSU AI Club to work together.
Nothing needs to be treated as an officially finalized partnership yet, but I'm interested in exploring what we could accomplish!
6. Is AI Good or Bad? My Perspective!
I don't think artificial intelligence should automatically be considered entirely good or entirely bad.
Its usefulness depends on how it's designed, deployed, and used.
AI can help people learn, create, communicate, and solve problems.
At the same time, there are legitimate concerns surrounding misinformation, privacy, academic integrity, intellectual property, employment, and the potential misuse of AI-generated content.
That's why I believe people should stay informed about both the advantages and disadvantages.
And another thing!
Using AI doesn't mean someone should stop learning skills independently.
In my case, I want to continue developing my abilities in journalism, writing, media production, and website development while treating AI as a supporting resource.
Human creativity and critical thinking should remain at the center!
7. Final Thoughts 🔔
Artificial intelligence is an increasingly influential part of our world.
From Google to Microsoft and OpenAI to Meta, major technology companies are developing tools that affect how people interact with digital information.
I've experienced some of those benefits firsthand while building Trace The Rater.
But no matter how advanced these systems become, I believe people should continue questioning information, developing their own skills, and taking responsibility for their decisions.
And with the possibility of collaborating with the WSU AI Club, I'm interested in exploring more conversations about AI, creativity, and responsible technology use!
My biggest takeaway? AI should help us expand our abilities, not replace our independent thinking!
Now I want to hear from YOU!
Do you think artificial intelligence is mostly helpful, mostly harmful, or somewhere in between?
And what AI tools do YOU use?
Let me know your thoughts!
